They were many huge ones too, probably about the size of a baseball. I took a lot of pictures of them and this is the only one that turned out. The iPhone camera didn't know where to focus and I finally got this picture.
I'm heading out this morning to pick one to wear with the kilt at the ren faire. The thistle is the national emblem of Scotland after all.

You do know you can tap on the screen of your iPhone to tell it where to focus, right?
I did Erik... and then it kept reverting back. That's how I finally got this shot, I snapped the pic just a second after touching the screen.
