Dancing Fool

In honor of April Fool's Day yesterday I thought about a funny story of me being a fool. In 1989 I was living in Baltimore with my partner Pat. We had just opened Andon's Deli and Bar on Charles St, about ten blocks north of the Inner Harbor in the heart of the city. I had so much fun working there. Here are a few pictures:

We hired twin sisters to be our cooks, their names were Virginia and Marilyn, they would always laugh at me when I asked where their sister Delaware was... (they loved me, they tolerated my bad jokes). LOL

They always had the radio on in the kitchen. I was back there with them one day between the morning crowds and lunchtime when a good song came on and I started dancing. I was really getting into it too... I was a dancing fool! We were having a good old time until I turned around... there stood our bread man with a delivery! I had no idea how long he had been standing there. He was laughing but I was so embarrassed!

After the lunch rush was over and we got the kitchen and the cooking grills cleaned I would be out in the dining area mopping the floor and I would be dancing with the mop. Many times a customer would stick their head in the door and say hello and a few homeless guys that I had made friends with would stop by for a visit while I was cleaning up. It always embarassed me, why did I forget I had a glass store front? I was a dancing fool in a very public way! LOL

Well... sometime you just have to let loose and dance!

Happy Friday everyone!

As any Tarot card reader/Jungian knows, it is very good to be The Fool. Keep doing so.
