I was a little angel, I never got punished!!

I don't remember why I was ever punished, it was probably because I was fighting with middle brother or I was being a smart-ass! (Like I still am, heehee) I got the belt a few times and a few switches from the willow tree out back. Usually I was sent to my room. I didn't mind that so much, I would just read or play with something and be fine with that, in fact it gave me a break from being picked on by the older siblings.
A few years ago I was talking with middle brother, reminiscing about our childhood. He said he remembers being punished a lot! That he was always being spanked or sent to his room or some other horrible (in his mind it was horrible) punishment. I told him; "Duh! Do you not remember what you used to do to me?" LOL
Middle brother was only 16 months older than me and mom often said he didn't get to be the baby long enough. He would steal my bottle or pinch me to make me cry. As we got older he would do the meanest things to me and we both got in trouble when I fought back.
This makes me think of parents now-a-days who don't believe in spanking their kids. I think that if a parent has anger issues they should vow to never spank their kid, it might go way past punishment into a beating that isn't fair to the kid. But I also know some kids that need a good swat on the behind!
Were y'all punished or spanked as a child? Anyone care to share a story?

I remember being spanked once, but that was all it took. From that point on, I whenever I'd get 'the look' from either parent I was an instant angel.
I do recall getting caught in a lie once when I was about 10 or so and being grounded for the night. Rather than do the smart thing and find some way to entertain myself -I sat on the porch and watched the rest of the neighborhood kids outside playing and enjoying the summer night. Talk about a glutton for punishment!!
Yep, a had a couple of spankings, but being the angel, it was very rare I was punished. My sister on the other hand, is a different story indeed!
I was spanked a few times that I remember. It was rare. I was such an angel that it wasn't necessary!
My Dad gave me a beat down one time that I can remember. I was about 9, we were in the car driving through a snow storm. I said/did something that pissed him off. I can't remember what.
He stopped the car and reached back to hit me. When he couldn't reach me, he got out of the car and opened the rear door and started beating me. I pushed back against the other door and was able to get it open. I fell backwards out the door into the snow and rolled down into the ditch and got all wet. He came around the car and grabbed me and threw me back into the car, and beat me some more.
After we started driving again, I said I was going to call the sheriff. This caused my Dad to really go berserk, but this time my mother was able to stop him and talk sense into him. I never called the sheriff. I thought about it and was afraid I'd end up in foster care and never see my family again.
When we got home it was like it never happened. We never spoke of it.
When WASN'T I punished as a child? I was always in trouble. Standing in the corner for what seemed like HOURS. Spankings with the butter paddle. Time outs. Being grounded. Nothing seemed to work!
My brother and I were hand spanked and my father had a leather belt he would use sometimes, but neither happened that often, and never without good reason for the discipline.
I was not overtly punished as I was a good boy.
