Random Stuff rattling around the brain today

I ran into a lot of people over the weekend that I hadn't seen in a long time. I noticed something that seems to be a running theme with everyone. When asked "How are you?" everyone replied the same; "Oh, just busy with work." I know it's just a rhetorical answer, but sometimes I want to know how my friends really are doing. I guess that's up to me to have more conversation to find out.

While at the gym last night I saw a little bit of the President of Iran's speech to the UN. Why is it that he and other religious fanatics talk about "rights" for everyone... except for gays? Do the fanatical Christians realize that they sound just like he did? Why is it that when someone talks about what God says, they think that their own beliefs are the absolute truth, straight from God herself? Why do they not realize that it is just their opinion and their interpretation of what they think God means? This drives me crazy!

And why is it that some people in Texas break out their coats and jackets when the temperature goes below 60 degrees? The weather has cooled down and it's really nice outside. But a coat, really? It's not that cold yet! I know you yankee northerners are getting a good laugh at us warm-weathered southerners! But it's true, I was walking behind a guy leaving the office last night and he was wearing a trench coat. And I don't think he was planning on going to the local cruise park... or was he??

I laugh year-round, but that's beside the point. LOL

I agree completely with you about the shocking parallels between religious extremists in the Middle East and the so-called Christians in America. It's like they are both using the same playbook.
