Opening of the State Fair of Texas

Today is opening day of the State Fair of Texas! I love going to the fair. Growing up we went to the Utah state only a few times since it was a 3 hour drive to Salt Lake City. We only went when mom entered things into the competitions.


Here are some of the pictures I've taken while at the fair. The picture below is one of my favorites, its a view of the fair from the top of the ferris wheel at night. Embiggen it, it's very cool.


Only occasionally do I ride the rides, only if I go with friends that want to. I hate the spinning rides, makes me feel sickly for several hours.


A must see for me is also the baby animal petting area. Yes, I'm one of the few adults without a rug-rat in tow looking at the baby critters. I also like the dog shows.

Mostly I just like to people watch.
